with my partner about a month ago, and straight after i developed cystitis, this is very coomon for me so i didnt worry about it too much. however the symptoms have been going on for a month now, and are now accompanied by a strange discharge
. also, im having the heaviest period of my life right now... been to the doctors and am taking antibiotics at the mo, he also did a chlamydia test and ive had a urine
sample sent off for testing. ill probably get these results soon but im really scared at the moment and need some advice, me and my partner have been together about 8 months and he tells me he hasnt slept with anyone other than me the whole time. ive also been faithful to him. this isnt the only time we have had unprotected sex
) but this has only happened maybe 3 other times in our relationship... im confused because if he has had chlamydia the whole time then how come i didnt contract it months ago when we had sex
Hi I have been checked for chlamydia previously, about 1 year ago now, before I started seeing my new partner. It came back negative. For a reason unrelated to STI's I was on a course of Doxycycline about 6 months ago, me and my partner had had unprottected sex previous to that so, if i had contracted chlamydia then , could the Doxycycline have cleared it up without me even knowing I had it? if this is the case i agree we (or most likely, he) could have been carrying it the whole time we have been togther. sorry im a little upset because there is a high chance he could have been unfaithful. is it possible to carry the infection for around 8 months without noticing symptoms??
Oh absolutely it is. Chlamydia is called a silent infection because many people don't see symptoms. The longest I've seen personally is 2 years without symptoms, and 8 months is entirely possible for you.
The doxy you were on could have cured it then, but if your partner didn't get treated, you got re-infected. Its less likely that a man wouldn't have symptoms, but still entirely possible.
In cases like yours, where you have already taken meds once, etc., you just have to go with your gut on whether or not you think he's been unfaithful.
