simvastatin 20 mgs. prescribed for good HDL

Hi!  I'm here again because I forgot to write about my sister's total cholesterol which is also good.  It is only her HDL which is high but not superhigh that her doctor prescribes her of simvastatin 20 mg.  Therefore, if her Total Cholesterol, Low Cholesterol and Trig. are normal does she really need to continue the medication for her HDL which is high? Thanks in advance for your reply.
