Quiet week ...

Hi everyone. It's been quiet on the Group this week. I hope that means everyone is contented and our best friends are doing okay.

I had a weird and dreadful dream last night that I lost Giro and then found him again 6hrs later ... actually woke up with tears in my eyes. It's very rare that I remember my dreams, so I'm now slightly obsessed about checking the front and back doors are closed and garden gates are shut. Enough to say, he got a huge hug when I got out of bed this morning.

Hi Tony,

Oliver is doing extremely well. All I can say its amazing ! Oliver even looks great. His white maltese hair looks nice and full, he is not a sickly 2.9 lbs that he was when he was admitted to the pet clinic back in April. At this point I am not sure how much he weighs. I was having him weighed weekly, but stopped since he really filled out and looks more like a bunny now :)  I am sure Dr. Schultz will be impressed with how he looks. The real determination though will be the blood results.  Yes, Oliver for a 15 year old sure has surprised us all :)  Thank you for the well wishes.

Hi Elsa. Hope your Dad is feeling better soon. And yes, vet bills are so expensive, especially during illnesses like CKF that need regular check-ups and bloodwork. Fingers crossed for Friday. It does sound like he's still doing so extraordinarily well. A true inspiration for everyone on here. Tony x

Thank you both!!

Charlene, Sammie will forever be our guardian angel watching over all of us. She certainly has kept her love alive!  I walk into each blood test prepared for anything...Thanks for your prayers:)

Right now, Darbie is wreaking havoc on a  $.94 squeaky toy from Walmart. She can't "kill" the squeak...She's getting exhausted! LOL, they are so much better than the expensive toys! She's having a fit! HAHA!!

Elsa, best wishes to your Dad & Mom! Especially to you as a caregiver. That's LOVE:). Oliver sounds like he is the most content pup:) Now, Darbie is sleeping soundly as she could not kill the squeaky, red shark...I'm sure she'll be having a crazy dream soon!

I have to say the vet bills have been staggering over the years, especially 2014. I took a leap of faith and have ordered Azodyl thru Amazon.com. I was paying $100/mo. thru vet, now I'm paying $25/mo. Darbie's IV bags were $20 each at vet every 3 days. My Dr. Vet was so kind and gave a script for pharmacy. The bags come in a case of 12 @ $4 ea. For these reasons, I can afford to do what's most important and get Darbie in for monthly blood work and feed her Hill's KD & buy her steak! I can only hope that pet owners don't get overwhelmed and explore all options in the best interest of beloved pets and themselves.

Thank You again, my Friends!

Fondly,
Lynne & Darbie:)

Lynne and Elsa......okay, I just talked with Sammie and told her to watch over Darbie and Oliver.  I feel just as anxious waiting for their results as I did with Sammie!

They both are doing great and I'll keep saying my prayers this week.  Will wait "impatiently" for the results.

My best,
Charlene

Hi Everyone :)

I have been very busy taking care of my parents and have not had time to post too much.  My father is 87 years old in very good health and pretty active, However, he has this horrible sciatic nerve that has kept him off his feet.  Hopefully, with physical therapy and meds he should be on the mend soon.
Me, I've been stressing over my new car....the lease is up and I want to purchase my car.  With everything that happened since April with Oliver and his expenses, it has been a hardship. I think we all know the feeling. At the end I am sure things will work out for me.

Oliver....oh Oliver ! I am sure he has gained some nice weight. I feel if he has been eating and drinking water and sleeping like a babe. Basically acting normal....hopefully all should be fine on Friday when he has his physical and blood work. Crossing my fingers for Darbie ;)  I am kind of nervous about what the blood tests will show. Kind of hard to predict anything. Dr. Schultz gave him two -three months to live....and here is my little guy six months later. WE are very lucky.  Take care all and I can't wait to here about Darbie's results.  Hugs,  Elsa

Hey Everyone!

All is well here! I always had one eye on the board this past week and stayed optimistic:) Big family wedding up on Brant Lake NY...The kind that brings family together from afar every few years...Wonderful, but I couldn't wait to get home to Darbie! Darbie's "sitters" said she searched the house up,down & all around for us...As I speak, she just ran down the staircase as we "abandoned" alone in the upstairs bedroom. Elsa, keep reminding me about the "separation anxiety" issues...HAHA!

Darbie's up for blood work on Nov. 6...She and Oliver can be on the "2-fer one" prayer special:)

I rarely go thru a night without a major motion picture, technicolor dream(s).
Oftentimes, my American Eskimo (Tiffany) and Schipperke( Paco) come out to play. I love when I see my mom,dad and grandparents! I wake up feeling melancholy, but for the fact that I can "see" them again is remarkable. For me, it satiates the grief and longing a bit.

My very best wishes to ALL!!

Fondly,
Lynne & Darbie

Hi Charlene. Yes, time passes. Those dreams are truly awful. I can only imagine how much you are missing Sammie. It's hard, but you will get through it. Stay strong. Sometimes grief seems to ease and then smacks you in the back while you're not watching ... but those bad days get less as time moves on. It's been 3 years since I lost BB, and I do still have the occasional bad day when she's in my head and heart from getting up in the morning to going to bed at night. Just one of those things. We pour our love onto them and they return it ten fold, so it's little wonder we feel so bad when they aren't here anymore.

Hope you have a nice day today.

Hi Tony.  It has been quiet.  I always worry about Darbie, Oliver and the others when they haven't posted.  Glad to hear Oliver is doing well.  Will be saying extra prayers on the 7th.

Had one of those type of dreams years ago.  I had a dream our dog, Shasta, died.  This was about a year before she did die).  I woke uo balling my eyes out.  My face and pillow were soaked.  I jumped out of bed and smothered her with hugs and kisses.

Hope everyone is doing well.  Hard to believe on Tuesday that Sammie has been gone two months already.  Miss her so much!!

My best to all,
Charlene

Hi Elsa. I'm fine thanks. Great to hear little Oliver is still doing so well. We've had a strange week of odd things happening ... a slate flew off the roof in high winds here in sunny Blackpool a few days ago, then yesterday we awoke to a broken window pane (we think a car or truck threw a stone up). So tonight being Halloween, we're hoping for no more surprises. Ha.

Hugs,

Tony

How are you Tony?
