I have moderate Restrictive Liung Disease, heavy scarring means I have trouble getting oxygen into areas of lung that function, and nothing gets into the dead areas. Anyway, when I go to the California Desert, the humidity is so low that I end up with serious lung infections, especially because there is no humidity to keep the dirt/dust down....so it ends up in the lungs. In the desert, humidity can get below 40 and 30 degrees humidity, really bad!. I had to buy a VENTA humidifier for my California home in the Coachella Valley area. These are great, by the way, German-made, and don't leave white ****/dust all over furniture; easy to clean, too.
So, to answer your question: Yes, by all means go to Florida....your lungs will do very well. Lungs are mostly water, and of course air. To be healthy I have read that lungs need humidity of of at least 50% in the house. Based on my experience this is true. I do very well in my other home up here in Seattle...very good humidity here all year long. And I have done very well in Hawaii, especially with all that salty air! Great for lungs.
HOPE YOU ENJOY FLORIDA!
The response to humidity varies considerably from one individual to the next and varies, within a given individual, with acclimatization over time. Humidity, per se, should not be a contraindication to your moving to Florida, especially since you experienced moderate humidity there, with no obvious problems. That suggests that you are not a humidity sensitive person.
