Prednisone

I am 64 and I have had chest congestion with cough for 6 to 8 weeks now. My dr put me on prednisone now I am a litte concerned about my resistance to catching the flu etc. Is there anything I can do to help my immune system.

I suggest that you ask your doctor what is the soonest you can stop taking the prednisone and if treatment other than prednisone, for your chest congestion, might be helpful.

Then, when the congestion resolves, if you have not been vaccinated arrange to get the flu vaccine.
