Hi, thanks for getting back to me, when ever i have been into A&E they have always done a d-dimer bood test and all the other blood tests to rule out another PE and an ECG and they have said that everything is normal. Can a PE do some damage in the lung? to experience the discomfort that im feeling as i never felt out of breath ever before. could it be plueracy? what could be the little shadowy area in my xray? When my doctor hear my back with the stethascope she says that the right lung sounds better than the left but nothing's being done. i feel that when i breath my left lung inflates and i dont feel nothing on my right side.
Because of the bone pain and muscle weakness that im experiencing they have said to me that it is osteomalacia because my vitamin d levels became very low but i have been suffering with this for 9 years now and it is getting worse. rhumatoid arthriris and fibromyalgia could also be a possibility they say, that's what they are saying that is causung my chest and rib pain, the doctors think it's my bones and muscles around that area.
Because i had this problem before they think the pain has spread to my upper body. i agree to an extent that my ribs and muscles are inflamed because they are very tender and they throb but it's what underneath them also what im worried about that the doctors are ignoring. I'm really confused and i dont know what to do.
The first thing that must be addressed, and without delay, is the possibility that you are having recurrent pulmonary emboli (PE). That could account for both chest pain and shortness of breath.
The pain that "goes down my arm" is another matter, especially when accompanied by weakness. I’m assuming you mean muscle weakness when you say "left my left side really weak." Pain of the left arm and a "squeezing…my chest area" are most commonly a sign of heart disease.
Osteomalacia is an uncommon diagnosis. Are you sure they didn't say, osteoporosis?
At this time you need to seek careful evaluation of both heart and lungs, including a CT scan to look for PE. It should not be assumed that your pain is muscle pain.
