coughing and nasal drip

I have been coughing for the past eight months. I have been to an ENT, and Allergy specialist which both says that they have given me all of the medication that they could. I am on clairton, and nexium which is for my acid reflux. I am schudel to have an allergy test in a week. I am very concerned, because the coughing won't go away. By the way, all of my test are negative. (CT scan-chest x-ray-throat-esophagitis-ultra sound).  Some time I have a wheezing and sneezing along with the coughing. Please help me as I write to you my throat feels as if something is cutting it. I am in my seventy's.I am waking up during the night coughting and all during the day.

My mom used to cough like that and it was her heart. Any problems there?

You may want to get a second opinion from another ENT.  Your doctors might also consider doing a pH probe, with you continuing to take the Nexium® (esomeprazole), to determine if the reflux is really under control.  Also, ask the allergist if you could have cough-variant asthma.  That could account for some of the wheezing, but so could acid reflux.
