my son

my 5 month old son was just diagnosed with bronchomalacia and we were wondering if it is something he will grow out of or will it stay with him for the rest of his life and is there any absolute cause of it and if so what can be done other then meds for the condition

There is not much known about the cause of this.  Most children outgrow bronchomalacia at about 2 or 3 years old, at the latest.  Some of the children will develop other respiratory problems, such as asthma.  If there is a family history of asthma, this becomes more likely.
