As a helicopter pilot, and one with asthma, I have never ever experienced any reaction to "helicopter fumes". Most copters burn JP4, which has an aroma that is usually benign. That is not to say you don't have a genetic sensitivity to something in this hydrocarbon. I doubt the helicopter exhaust significantly affects your asthma. It's possible, of course. You might want to see an allergist or look for other factors in the specific area where you live.
