Back and rib pain at same time

by royles22, Jan 11, 2009 11:12PM
It started a couple of days ago. I woke up from a nap feeling, weak, nauseated, warm at the same time. I went and got cold air right away and it went away instance. Now, i have pain right at the middle of my breast bones. No matter if what side i turn on it hurts all the way around to my back. Now the pain in my back is bothering me.

What could be wrong with me?

Your description of the pain does not suggest a specific diagnosis but all chest pain must be taken seriously.  The combination of feeling weak, nauseated and warm with chest pain could be anything from a lung infection to a collapsed lung to a collapsed vertebra and/or herniated disc in your back bones to a problem with your heart.  Or it could be as simple and benign as strained chest and/or back muscles.

If you are still experiencing any of the same symptoms, especially the pain, when you receive this response, you should see a doctor and, at minimum, have a physical examination of your chest and back, a chest x-ray and an electrocardiogram (EKG).

Good luck.
