COPD and altitude

My mother is coming to live with us in Colorado and she now lives in California.  Will the change in altitude be a big problem with her oxygen tank?

Assuming that your mother is on continuous oxygen, her coming to Colorado should not be a problem.  The oxygen flow-rate may have to be increased and, for that reason, you should make arrangements in advance to have her oxygenation status tested by oximetry, while at rest, walking at a normal pace and during sleep.
