Chest-neck,gland discomfort

by Sugie1938, Oct 25, 2009 03:33PM
I don't know where I should be posting now, as I had all kinds of heart scans, stsress tests, Xrays, and although they mentioned slight abnormalities on stress test, Cardiologist seemed to think the other tests were normal or nothing to worry about, but said she could do a angiogram (?) if I wanted, but said she didn't think it would show anything . She said to go back to my primary, but haven't had time to do that yet.The symptoms seem to be worse lately. They are: Chest discomfort-hard to discribe, feels like pressure, which prompts me to undo my bra. That doesn't really help. I almost feel like I am breathing harder with no exertions. This strange feeling goes up my neck, into my jaws. I get a strange feeling in my head almost like I could pass out. Lying down does not help, and the pressure on my back makes the chest hurt more. Does anyone have any suggestions for me before I see my doctor, on possible causes, or tests I might need? I was struck by a car while walking, and had numerous fractures, including sternum, but that was eight years ago. I also tripped over my Mom's cat and fell forward injuring arms and overall soreness. I also had a non malignant tumor removed from the partoid gland two years ago, with no complications. I feel healthy otherwise, but this has gotten so bad, I have to lie down a lot, and never ever did that before. I had Rheumatic fevor as a child, the doctors don't think it's connected either.  Any help will be so welcome.

Sugie, have you received any advice or solutions to your problem above?

I have been having pain in my chest and arounf my sternum area which radiates throught to my back and up through my throat into my left ear.  Also, while having these sympatoms I can press on my chest directly under my sternum and there is something clicking and floating around which is not painful in that respect, but during these episodes the general sensation is as if someone were standing on my chest.  I have been seeing a general physician and have had complete workups and all forms stress tests for the heart.  I've had CT scans for lung cancer and pancreatic cancer, an enoscopy, so far.  It has been recommended that I have an MRI.  These episodes come and go off and on once or twice a day for a few hours at a time and are completely interfereing with my copetitive rowing practice as i can't bend over to row, because my air supply is cut off when I bend forward with my oars.

Hi brianj53,  No, I have not been back to the doctor's yet. He actually told my husband he doesn't know what else to do. The pain I have is constant, never leaves, is worse at times, but nothing gives relief. If you find any causes or if anyone else has suggestions, please let me know., as it has affected the quality of life. Thanks for sharing your experiences, and I hope you can get some answer's too.
