Chronic bronchitis question

I am a 53 year old ex welder dxed with chronic bronchitis  6 years ago at that time my fev1 was 103% predicted and my dlco was 62%now 6 years later my fev1 is at 88% and my dlco went up to 74%.In 2007 my fev1 was 89% now it is at 88% so it seems it has leveled off a bit.Just wondered with the numbers I have could I be well for 20 years or so if I take care of myself .I do get slightly winded when exercising but recover fairly quickly. Thanks BillC

I am not understanding the numbers you have given. But,if it has leveled off a bit, then that has to be a good sign I would think. Now, that you are no longer a welder will help as well. I too am 53 with COPD...chronic bronchitis and emphysema. I was diagnosed 3 yrs. ago this month. And I am still getting around pretty good. Just take care of yourself and I would say you will be around the next 20 years. God bless
