Do Ihave COPD

by arlene918, Oct 23, 2009 01:32PM
I am 69 yr old female .Recent chest xray results:  heart normal in size/configeration. Aorta elongated and tortuous. Lungs clear of infiltrates. Minimal scarring or atelectasis noted. Lungs do appear to be hyperinflaerd. Hemidiaphragms smooth and costophrenic angles are well-outlined. There is increase in thoracic kyphosis, scoliosis, osteroporosis and mild to moderate degereative changes in spine. Impression: 1.atherosclerosis  -2. question COPD    3.minimal scarring  4.  kyphoscoliosis,  5. Osteroporosis.  6. Degenerative arthritis.

Where in this report is atherosclerosis indicated. What does hemidiaphragms and costophrenic mean?  Wouldnt the xray show indication of chronic broncitis or emphzyma if I had copd?  What does an elongated aorta mean.My primary doctor prescribed an inhaler but I dont even know if ii have COPD.
