Interstitial Lung Disease, Shallow breathing, rib pain?

by Juliac, Sep 09, 2008 04:16PM
I am trying to help my friend. Her Doctor passed away suddenly and is waiting for a new Doctor to take over. She has Interstitial Lung Disease, Sjogrens, 50% kidney function. She has extreme fatigue right now, grey pallor, pain in right rib cage, but the worst symptom right now is swollen joints of hands and feet that are hot. She cannot walk up stairs right now. Please help me guide her on where to go to next? Thank You, Julia

The best help you can give your friend is to arrange for her to be seen by a rheumatologist.  Her problem is definitely in the realm of rheumatology and that specialist will make arrangements for her to be seen by a pulmonologist with a special interest in interstitial lung disease.
