Lung Function Test Results - Please help

Hi I am 26 and smoked for 8 years and have quit now after receiving my PFT results.  I have had two doctor opinion's on my results. One said I had mild COPD and the other doctor said my results were normal for someone who has smoked and anyone who has smoked for the lengh I did will have some lung damage. Any feedback would be appreciated.

These are the % of predicted values / pre-bronchodilator.

FVC (L) 123
FEV1 (L) 126
FEV1/FVC (%) 96
FEF 25% (L/sec) 117
FIVC (L) Actual = 5.01
TGV (L) 110
RV 144
TLC (Pleth) (L) 129
RC/TLC 117
DLCO 101

The doctor wrote:  Although the FVC and FEV1 are within normal limits the ratio is reduced. The airway resistance is normal. The TLC and RV are increased but the FRC is within normal limits.  No significant response following the administration of bronchodilator.  The diffusing capacity is normal.

Will my lungs get better the longer I remain smoke free?  I know I will never regain the function I have lost, but with my results, will I be on oxygen soon?  I am very worried.  Please help.
