Is it possible to have an inflamation (inflammation) of the phrenic Nerve, on one side only?

Yes it is possible and much more common than bilateral phrenic nerve inflammation or any other disease process.

About five years ago I fell down the stairs and hit my mid back.  I was taken to the hospital where they did x-rays then sent me home.  I have never experienced such exquisite pain in my life, even childbirth twice.  Since that time, I have had difficulty breathing and taking full breaths down into my abdomen.  Is it possible to have injured some nerves to the diaphragm or something???
