copd and reflux severe breathing problem

I have just been diagnosed via endoscopy that I have reflux, as i suffer from empysema this is now making me extreemley gasping for breath even at rest can anyone suggest or help.

I am 53. About 20 years ago, I was diagnosed with acid reflux. I was given an upper GI. Then, approximately 3 yrs. ago diagnosed with moderate COPD.  I do agree that when the reflux gets going with me, that it does make breathing more difficult.

Over the years, I have had to learn ways to help the reflux. Sleep with 2 pillows. Do not eat and immediately lay down. Avoid the foods that seem to aggrevate the reflux more. And eat smaller meals 6 times a day. When we overeat at once during a meal, the acid reflux is sure to happen. There are many good meds to help with acid reflux as well. Some of them over the counter and also prescribed by the doctor.

I hope this has helped. Many sites will tell you these are the things to do to help with the reflux. And they have worked for me all these years. I still get reflux from time to time, but it has lessen over the years with these techniques. Please feel better. God bless.

i also had severe breathing problems and the doctors couldnt figure out what really caused it. i really searched for ways i could cope with this until i found some natural remedies which completely took away my distress. these are olive oil crisco brand and also honey. these work really well to ease my sympotoms. the other natural remdies you can take are licorice root tablets and also d limonene by jarrow formulas. hope this helps someone
