THANK YOU TEKO..THAT IS PRETTY MUCH HOW THE DOCTOR EXPLAINED IT BUT
THEY HAVENT SAID ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT STAGE OF COPD I WAS IN. I ALSO
HAD A CARDIOVASCULAR TEST WHERE THEY MEASURED HOW MY LUNGS AND
HEART WERE WORKING TOGETHER AND THAT TEST WAS NORMAL.
It means your lungs are not breathing out all the air, and your lungs are hyperinflated, or expanded larger than normal. You are retaining stale air. Usually means it takes you much longer to breathe out all that carbon dioxide, than the average person. Hope that makes sense.
I AM NOT ON ANY ANTI-INFLAMMATORIES. I JUST TAKE ADVAIR TWICE A DAY
I DONT HAVE A PEAK FLOW METER. MY DOCTOR DID A PULMONARY FUNCTION TEST AND SAID MY TOTAL LUNG CAPACITY WAS 122 PERCENT. HOW COULD MY LUNG FUNCTION BE MORE THAN 100 PERCENT? I DO GET SHORT OF BREATH BUT I SUFFER FROM PANIC DISORDER TOO. I AM NOT ON OXYGEN AND MY OXYGEN LEVEL IS NORMALLY 98
Is that a reading you are getting on your peak flow meter, if you have one? If it is, then you must be extremely short of breath. Are you?
