low oxy level

by butche, Jun 26, 2009 06:12PM
I had a artery oxygen level reading 88. My finger oxygen level was 92. I did a test while sleeping and five times the reading was  50 over 5 hrs. Think I should be on oxy full time?

I would certainly try to see a pulmonologist about the low oxygen level. I am not sure what the artery oxygen level should be. But, I do know that anything below 90 is not normal. So, the 92 reading is within normal range.  But, your oxygen dropping to 50 while sleeping, is very dangerously low. Only your doctor, can tell you what is truly going on. But, I would suggest seeing either your family doctor or a pulmonary doctor. I hope you find answers with your doctor. And that you improve.
