rib cage severe pressure

I have mentioned before about awful pressure around my chest and ribcage area, well this past week I have unfortunately for me contracted a flu virus which in turn has given me a cough the pressure under and behind my lungs is so severe I hardly dare cough and I know I have to, but I honestly feel that my rib cage is going to snap, but honestly thats how if feels, please give help of anything I can do, I am age 53 and a med/severe copd sufferer.

You don't mention what medications you are taking. But you sound pretty sick, so perhaps you should go to the emergency room. COPD plus flu puts you at risk.
