I am curious. Why would salt water alleviate symptoms?

Maybe I figured it out. When my lungs got too dry from medication, I used plain water in a nebulizer to moisten them. It helped a lot. I wonder if the device you are using is more efficient at moisturizing. When a baby has a stuffed nose, you squeeze salt water in its mostrils.
