water in the lungs

water in the lungs

Dear sir,
my father age 74  is suffering from heart disease from last 12 years and following routine medicines are in use-
Lanoxin, calaptin,pentodac, amifru,since then.
but from  last 2yrs he is continuously suffering from less breathing , cough , weight loss and loss of apetite ..
In August  2010 he get a sputum culture, TB check (Result +ve),  x- ray chest (PA) and ultrasound ....  water in the right side is reported. Dr suggested predmet 40 and ceftum 250 along with medicines for TB.. since then he get several x rays of chest and reported water increase. lastly he gone through fluid effusion and 2 litres of fluid extracted. Now fluid check is not supporting TB or any type of cancer...so the reason for fluid occurence is still not solved.... should i consider ct scan of heart and bronchoscopy for further examination........... please suggest............

hi mantu, so sorry to hear for all you fathers problems. we aren't doctors here we cannot diagnosis any illnesses or recommend medications, we only talk and compare our own situations with one another.
I would tell you that from past experience and the fact that you said your father is suffering from heart disease now compounded with the fluid on his lungs that this is without a doubt IMO Congestive Heart Failure.
I would talk to his doctors more about this particular condition, or do some research yourself.
I am very sorry and how your father can find some comfort....♥
