will this pass?

I am having an extreme exaserbation of copd. Coughing up an endless amount of phelgm, sorry I know it's gross.
Will this pass, and can a doctor do anything about it?

Hi!
If you are having an exacerbation of COPD then please consult a doctor immediately. You may need intravenous antibiotics, or steam inhalation or oxygen therapy, or bronchodilators. Medications such as asthalin, trebutaline, steroids, ipratropium bromide, and chromolyn sodium can be tried. Please consult a doctor immediately. Take care!

Thank you I took your advise and they gave me anti's and steroid and it took alittle bit but I am fine now. You are appreciated around here!!
