Fibromyalgia

I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, all that my doctor tells me to do is Exercise, and it's not working ( I don't really think she knows about Fibromyalgia). I was wondering if you could tell me anything that would help with my fibromyalgia symptoms. Some of my symptoms include: severe fatigue, severe pain and muscle soarness, headache, flu - like feeling all the time.

I have Fibromyalgia. I was diagnosed in 1996. Walking is really good, if you can get yourself to do it. A brisk pace, but not overloading. Also, as far as work goes, (any kind)
pace yourself. I can't stress that enough. Never overdo it, or you'll pay the price. Do only what you can, that feels comfortable. Bio feed-back is helpful if your life is stressful. Or if you meditate, that can really help. Get yourself on a regular sleep schedule. Sleep loss
intensifies Fibro. Watch the drugs they give you. Some can actually make it worse. I did
better off all of them, until now. I'm going through some changes in my stuff health-wise, and am experiencing other things along with this, but I don't know what, yet. Working on that. Know your Fibro well. That way, when something new comes along you'll know it's a different pain. Fibro mimics a lot of things. Carpal Tunnel, Gall Bladder, Flu, you name it. Don't let them tell you it's in your head, cuz it isn't. And don't let them think of you as a hypochondriac.(Docs, or friends and Family) Telling friends you don't feel well?? Trust me,. they won't get it. Don't even try if they don't know. You'll turn blu and Fibro out. LOL Just know your own personal limits. And stick to your guns when it comes to them wanting you to do things beyond your limit. They'll try. That's up to you. Learn to say "No!" It's the best Fibro word there is. Take care! Hope I gave you some good pointers.

i know what u r saying!  thats all the doctors were telling me to.. and even the doctor i have now..but she understands more so then the others.  some of them dont understand what we are going through and i think sometimes they dont want to take the timeout to want to know.  ive tried exercising also.. ill try about anything to get rid of this pain and everything else i have .. but it only made me feel worse.  i would actually throw up from the pain and would be   down for days at a time trying to get over it.  i think im actually getting use to everything but the pain.  theres times my pain is so bad i just cant hardly take it and although my doctor has me on pain med. it doesnt work so great all the time.  i dont even know what to tell myself anymore.          goodluck!
