I don't have jaundice thankfully and bilirubin is high normal. I started B12 and Vitamin D and burning has subsided. Thank you for replying. And thank you Hector for your detailed and thoughtful response.

I should have added that I do not have jaundice and my labs including bilirubin are normal. If you have those you should listen to Hector and have things checked.

I developed burning in my feet and up my legs during and after successful HCV tx, I'm also dx'd with cirrhosis.  A pp eventually (post three years) wanted me to try Neurontin (gabapentin) for it without really investigating it and I declined. Long story short, after three years of never recovering from that and other tx symptoms, I demanded a referral to an endocrinologist who really took an interest and ordered far more tests than I had previously had. I was hypothyroid (in his opinion from interferon), but I was also low in B12 and D. I started those vitamins and levothyroxine and within a week the neuropathy (burning) symptoms went away. He attributed it to the B12 as it takes weeks/months for levothyroxine to give any noticeable symptom relief. He likes b12 and d numbers at the very upper end of labs' reference ranges. Try a daily sublingal b12, 1000 mcg and definitely at least 2000 IU D daily. See if it helps the burning.

A burning feeling, along with itching in the hands, feet or anywhere on the body can be the result of Jaundice. Jaundice is caused by having abnormally high bilirubin levels which can make the eyes, under your tongue and skin turn a yellow color.

A liver blood panel with AST, ALT and bilirubin should be done to check for high levels of liver enzymes and bilirubin.

It usually takes a bilirubin above 2.5 to 3.0 for the skin to be noticeably yellow.

Other symptoms of jaundice include dark urine (the bile spills into the urine making it dark in color) or pale stools, The bile normally makes our stools brown so when not processed properly the stools become light in color.

Some people will also feel fatigue, weight loss, nausea and vomiting depending on the cause of the liver disease.

Some causes of jaundice in adults include liver diseases, like hepatitis or cirrhosis, gallbladder problems, blood diseases, infection or a blockage of the bile ducts.

There are many causes of jaundice you must see a doctor as soon as you can to determine the underlying cause of the jaundice and get the underlying issue treated.

Good luck.
