Thank you Randy....will do.

This unfortunately is a major problem without a lot of simple answers. The key is eating frequent small meals throughout the day ("grazing"). Foods that are high in protein are most effective although red meats should be avoided. Foods such as chicken, poultry and fish are rich in protein. How you prepare them is also key since you will want to avoid fatty foods.
Talk to your hepatologist about seeing a dietician that is familiar with your exact circumstance. What is right for me might not be alright for you.
Also at this stage it is most important to maintain or gain strength. The more conditioned your body is the more prepared you will be for whatever the future holds.

THANK YOU RANDY!!
I have a tough time with fruits and veggies...they dont like my tummy. I dont gain much weight with them either.
I'll get the B complex vitamins and the ones you mentioned.
I'm really wanting to find something that will put some skin on my bones. I do eat fish and poultry (sometimes) the Ensure, ice cream cause the hep said to but I think sugar when I eat ice cream. I eat rice.
Just hard to figure out what will add some weight and not just keep me at my present weight. Though I do know its hard when you have all we deal with.

Thank you. I was looking at the Drinks that add muscle mass. I just want to make sure whatever I take or drink/eat is safe.
I need muscles. LOL
Even a portabello mush burger doesnt sound good. I'm not a big meat eater either.
I watch my sodium...and sugar but its hard.
Thank you..enjoy your burg!!
Hi Paula, I'm trying figure out what I can eat also. But I'm still doing treatment for hep c so not much appetite. I can stand to loose some more weight. But for you what about going to health food store and looking into some of the body building powders. Most will be high in protein. But maybe you can find a formula that you can just take as a supplement not a meal replacement. I can imagine Ensure would get pretty yucky after awhile. If I get to my vitamin store ill ask the owner. Yes I know it has to be liver friendly. I'm stage 4 cirrhotic. I'm trying to figure out just what I can eat. Fast food is history.!! Tonight I'm going to have hubby make portabella burgers w/ Swiss cheese. So here's to our livers. Cheers!!!
Take a look at this thread.
