Antibiotic Switch, Now Puking, Flu?

Antibiotic Switch, Now Puking, Flu?

I was switched from Macrodantin to Cipro for a UTI a week ago because the Macro made me so sick to my stomach. My doctor told me I wouldn't have to worry about keeping as much food in my stomach with Cipro, because she was lecturing me as if I have an eating disorder, which I don't. I love to eat breakfast, but I eat when I'm hungry, not when I have to take medicine at 9pm after I'm finished eating and ready for bed. Anyways, after a day of taking the Cipro (and discovering my urine test came back incredibly clear), my UTI symptoms were gone but I was still experiencing stomach pain. The doctor just sent me home insisting I finish the medicine and treating my abdomen pain like I was making it up.

Now, a week later, I have been vomiting, having diarrhea and weak all day. I ate a granola bar before my antibiotic this morning because I was running late for work and the puking started at work at 2pm, then after laying in bed from 5-6:30 with nothing on my stomach but a little water because I was afraid of puking again, I vomited even more, then had more diarrhea. Now I have a fever of 101 and my body hurts so bad and it's very hard to get out of bed.

Since I have been on this new antibiotic for 5+ days, I refuse to continue taking it if it is the root of my problem.

Does this sound like a reaction, the flu or food poisoning?
