Ashma

I have been diagnosed with ashma, first by an allergist who said I was allergic to numerous foods, primarily diary, citrus, and on and on. I did not get stablized for almost a year. I had a pneumona vaccine just before I got sick. The hospital I went to said I had an allergic reaction to the vaccine and they reported the case to the CDC. Since that time, I have continued to have the same symptoms unless I take lots of medicine. I take singular, proair, verimist, musinex
and hydroxizine. I changed allergists and the new allergist said that I have intrinsic athsma. He performed the same allergy tests are the first allergist.

My symptoms are so much mucous in my head that it seems that I have the world's worst head cold. I have mucus in my throat which feels thick and most times I can't get rid of it. It just stays there all the time. I have mucus that I cough up in the morning and again at night when it is time for my next dose of medicine. The mucus used to be compact and not runny. Now it is a piece of thick mucus but not a ball.  The mucus is thick and sticky. After I cough this up, I feel less tight in the chest and my chest is usually okay for several hours.

No one in my family has athsma. My father had an allergy to the tetnus vacine. I am allergic to Relafen and cephlasporins. I believe I am sensitive to some foods. However, I was off of diary for about a year and I can eat it now without any particular reaction.

My primary physician has ordered lung function tests, which I haven't taken yet. My breathing tests (blowing as hard as I can into a device) have all been good. Right now I have an ear infection and am totally clogged up. About 1 year ago, I had to go to the hospital because of a case of bronchitis. They gave me a breathing treatment and antibotics which set me straight. Most doctors have said, "this does not look like athsma" or that a certain of my symptoms is not typical for athsma.

What is your opinion? Can I ever get rid of the "lump" in my throat?

Do you still check this?? I have the same thing, and I have had so many tests and ex-rays and still have no answer. Just wondering if you found out what it was??
