Back of the head pain when swallowing

I recently had a cold, about 10 days ago or so.  Just your basic runny nose mainly. But it has since subsided for about a week now, but now I am experiencing head pain in the back of my head when i swallow. Food, liquids or even just normal swallowing. Is this something connected to the cold i had, even though I'm not sick any longer?  My nose is still a little congested but not that bad, i can smell things fine and its not running.  My main concern is why my head throbs on back right side upon swallowing then disappears after the swallow. I went to a doctor and he gave me an anti-biotics perscription but didn't even check anything out further then looking in my ears and throat.

Thanks.
