Bar Soap (White Dial)

Bar soap is not to be used internally - it is to cleanse the skin, I am clear on that.  In my day - there have been many a child including myself that have had their mouths washed out with bar soap for use of bad language and have survived.  What I need is convincing information or where to find literaure that states how dangerous or harmful to a person's health, touching bar soap to a person's tongue is?

to be honest i think it is a ridiculouse way to put soap in anyones mouth  anless it happens by mistake if you have punish a child then tell them off ban things from them there is no need to put soap in anyones mouth it doesnt say not for internall use for no reason. true it may only make you sick or poo like mad but is that the way to go i very much doubt it if it causes diarrehea then quite obviously there is your answer right there its not good to use it internally.x

Most soaps are non toxic, you won't be poisoned or killed. But you will suffer some uncomfortable effects like diarrhea and vomiting. But if you are worried, you can call the National Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222.. But these days everything is usually made of non toxic materials.  But there are people who do eat soap and it only has the mild uncomfortable effects on them.
