Cold/Fever gone, jaw/throat pain remains

i just got over a pretty bad cold/fever, im not exactly sure what it was.. but i had a sore throat, cough, headache, and my whole body was really sore, i killed a whole bottle of Tylenol just to keep from going crazy. few days later those symptoms disappeared but a sore throat and my jaw still hurts. i do have to get my wisdom teeth taken out soon, i doubt they are having an effect because its not my teeth hurting at all, its my throat ( typical things like hurts to talk, swallow etc.. ) and the back of my mouth, when i open my jaw it kinda hurts... not to the point where im ready to run to the ER but its still annoying. my question is, is this a regular occurrence when you get over a sickness, do sore throats cause jaw and mouth pain? im not 100% better but this is the dominant thing thats bugging me right now. im hoping ill wake up tomorrow and feel even better then i did today, but this is starting to bug me.
