Cold Question

A week ago monday I felt like I may be coming down with a cold. No other symptoms except my nose felt weird. By wednesday my nose started running. Almost a week later I am still blowing my nose like crazy and coughing. I am taking erythromycin since Friday evening. Shouldn't my nose be calming down by now? I am also taking mucinex to thin it, but haven't taken any today. Thanks

I think that since the mucinex thins the mucous, you might actually be a bit more runny/phlegmmy for a bit, to get it all out of you.

Antibiotics don't help with a virus. This years cold is a bad one so it may take a while to get over.

thanks everyone...still have it. I have heard it can take 2 weeks to get over and some people are getting it twice.

Hi, well you can't really get it twice because your immune system will develop immunity to it. But what happens is that you will not really be over the original cold and you can rebound if you do too much too soon.

Instead of taking antibiotics every time why don't you try any natural medicine like Sambucol. Actually our family doctor suggest me about this. This one helps me to improve my immune system when I was suffering from flu.
