Coughing

I have a cough that wont go away.  It is a dry cough and I am also wheezing.  I went to the doctor and she told me to just take Mucinex which did nothing.  Is there something else I can take to help me sleep?

Delsym is the strongest over the counter cough medicine that you can get. Tastes terrible but  it works! Is there any congestion and if so where (chest, face). There are 3 different types of Mucinex, maybe it wasn't the one you needed.

Sounds like you might have a mild case of allergy related athsma. Try taking an allergy medicine for a week and see if that helps. It doesn't sound like you have any mucus, so the cold medicines wouldn't work. My children have allergy related athsma. They rattle when they sleep and mostly just when sleeping or exercising. They also have a cough. I even had one child who always sounded like her nose was stuffy and had bad breath, that went away with the allergy medicine. Singular really helped my children. It comes and goes, so I just give them a one a day allergy treatment when it is bothering them.   Athsma can develope at anytime, and there are different kinds.  I Hope you get a better nights sleep soon. Keep us posted.

My wife is going through the same thing.  A friend sent us an email about putting Vicks Vapo Rub on your feet.  Supposedly it works really well at relieving coughs, at least long enough to get a good nights sleep.
All you do is rub a generous amount on the bottom of your feet, and then put socks on.
We are going to try that tonight and see if it works.
