DURATION OF FLU?

HOW LONG SHOULD MY DAUGHTER AND HER KIDS, WHO HAVE THE FLU, STAY AWAY FROM OTHERS? I NEED TO KNOW THIS ASAP BECAUSE WE ARE SUPPOSED TO GET TOGETHER FOR DINNER ON CHRISTMAS DAY...THANKS!

I just recently had the flu which lasted for about 3 days. I felt fine for 2 days, I had company over and they became ill within 24 hrs. I think it also depends on which strand they have as well. I am personally always paranoid about those things, I wouldn't go around anyone that has had the flu within the past 7-14 days. I'm also pregnant, so I have a weaker immune system.

Thanks for getting back to me. My daughter and grandson were much better on Christmas Day, and we had our family get-together at my mom's house. Unfortunately, my mom woke up early yesterday morning with fever and a sore throat. She called me after returning from the doctor's office - you guessed it - she has the flu.(and she had her flu shot! but the nurse said it was probably another strain.) But she said it wasn't necessarily my daughter or grandson who she caught it from; my great-niece and -nephew had been at her house the night before, and the girl could barely talk and said she had a sinus infection.
I had been keeping my baby granddaughter (until Christmas morning) so she wouldn't get the flu from her mom and brother...none of the rest of us got sick...Thanks again! Hope you had a Merry Christmas; Happy New Year and take care of yourself and that little one! :)
