HORRIBLE daytime cough!!!

This cough is JUST AWFUL and now non-productive (I did have some dark green/brown phlegm at first, but can't cough anything else up now - except sometimes with postural breathing / percussion - which remains dark.) No fever at this point, but my ribs hurt and the cough is thoroughly wearing me out.

Tessalon Pearles, Robitussin DM, morphine to ease the pain, steroids - even xanax! No go!! The only thing that "helps" is lying flat, but as soon as I get up I feel a "shift" in my breathing / 'lungs' and the cough is DREADFUL. Can hardly eat or drink as a result!

I was on antibiotics for a sinus infection before this started up... but they haven't helped, and I just took the last one of the run (made certain to complete it).

Aaaack! Losing battle against this da*% thing!!!

I have had a dry cough for months and the practitioner gave me an array of meds, thats what they do, none worked , so now I am just taking nothing and hoping it clears ..Today I got up with an added bonus of aches and pains ..but I had the flu about 4 weeks ago and it cleared .

Could be Chronic Bronchitis, do you smoke?

First off, I'm not sure how you have access to these medications. Secondly, you need to be evaluated by a doctor to rule out pneumonia, tuberculosis, or another serious disease. Cover your cough and avoid transmitting the disease in the meantime.
