Headache questions...

Is it normal to get a random throbbing headache on the left top side of your head? It is not that severe but kind of annoying and I am not used to headaches. I have had this headache off and on since yesterday starting around 4:30pm when I was lifting weights (I was fine before I started and seemed to be worse when I was exerting myself trying to strengthen my arm muscles). It came back today around 4pm, went away for awhile and is back now at night 11pm.

I don't generally get headaches, almost ever. I'm 30, female, and have had probably 3 or 4 headaches in my entire life. So having a headache this long is strange for me. I might also be getting sick, I'm not sure. I have the vague ick feeling I get sometimes when I am fighting something off.

usually a headache on the one side of your head is a migrain, which can also make you feel sick and tired.

Agree that unilateral headaches are often igraines- and workouts change hormones=change neurochemistry.
However, as you're lifting weights, it wouldn't be a bad idea to call your doc and check in- headaches can also be caused from neck injuries, brain bleeds, etc. (not to frighten you!)- but why risk it?  Get a good checkup and make sure to ask questions about your headaches- are you taking meds, herbs, steroids, birth control, etc.?  Talk about EVERYTHING so the doc can put a picture together-
I hope you feel better xoxox
