I'm so sick and have a nasal drip like water, never had this befor! Is that normal?!

I am sick, and I really feel yuck!. Its on the milder side ( i guess ) if you concider that theres no vomiting, extreme high fevers or anything. Im am severly tired and sluggish, i feel like i can fall asleep standing up like my sight seems to be blurring in and out tired, running low fever, but i have this Nasal Drip that is like nothing I've ever had befor!! When my nose is running its like Water!! It just runs out of my nose, no consistancy, not thicker like mucous or snotty, it is like pure water. I keep shoving toilet paper, rolled and tipped, in my nose and it actually absorbs it like water! I have to replace every 10 minutes or so because the toilet paper is soaked. Is this normal, Ive never had a runny nose like this befor!?

Clear runny nose does not indicate infection i think. It just indicates allergy.

Hi there,

Well the good thing is it doesn't sound like any infection because your catarrh is clear. I agree is could be a virus but I am like this when I get hayfever. My nose literally runs like a tap as u have described and you feel very tired and sluggish. I agree with caryopteris in that you could go to the pharmacy and purchase a product to clean out your nose and also your sinuses. They are harmless and clean the allergens causing the runny secretions from your nasal cavity. Because you are tired and sluggish it would also be a good idea to take vitamin C with a zinc supplement because without vit c the zinc will not be absorbed via your gastro-intestinal tract. I also use an essential oil called "myrrh" and add it to a carrier oil and massage it on my chest and neck to assist with drying up the catarrh. All the best Trishy

I've had this before once or twice.  It's freaky, but it seemed to be a cold virus.  You might get relief by taking zinc tablets (50 mg) and by rinsing your nose out with a Neti pot.  I also get good relief with Zicam, but some people have lost their sense of smell from using that.
