Is it more than the flu?

I came down with flu like symptoms last tues. evening. Aching, fever of 101.2 at the highest, headache. After two days the fever went away and a different type of body aches manifested. I feel like my ribs and back have been severely beaten and I am tender and sore to the slightest touch. I lso have developed a cough that sounds like my lungs have junk rattling around waiting to be coughed out but the cough is tight and nothing will expell. The fever has not returned but I feel awful, weak and sore. Advil helps to keep the soreness away but nothing helps relieve the rattling in the chest and nothing loosens the phlem enough to cough it up. Am I contagious? Is this more tha the flu? What can I do?
