Please help....

I'v posted once before here and I got a reply I thank you kindly Dr. I have a very sore throat/swollen nodes and its been lingering for over 5 weeks now. I recently visited a physician who gave me antibiotics and anti-allergens which i'm almost finished the course of but they have done nothing. I am very worried. That is the only symptoms im getting although my gums and teeth can be quite sore as well.  I'm very worried that it is HIV but im waiting until another few weeks before testing as apparently 12 weeks is pretty conclusive. Please I'm just trying to convince myself that it could be something more benign but it seems like everything points to hiv..started 5 days after exposure and is not going away despite antibiotics which is the first time ever that that has happened me. thanks for reading and any comments would be much appreciated.......very worried

5 weeks is a long time for a sore throat.

what antibiotics

what anti-allergens?  often these kinds of medicine take a few weeks to start working.

after 6 weeks, HIV tests are pretty conclusive.  i'd go get tested to put your mind at rest
