Shall I get the flu shot today?

There is a free flu shot at my work place today.  I've been having mild cold symptoms for the past 2-3 days.  This morning, when I woke up, my symptoms got a lot worse - I'm feeling chills, nausea, headache, and sinus congestion/pressure.  Today is the only day that I can get the flu shot.  I never got any flu shots and haven't had flu for years.  But I've been sick a lot this year with frequent infections and very low WBC.  So I'm a bit concerned about my immune system's ability to defend against flu, and deciding to get a shot this year.  However, I cannot afford to be sick right now and certainly don't want to feel any worse.  Am I better off getting the flu shot today or not?

NO, you can get a flu shot at most drugstores, doctors offices and you dont even have to have an appt. Most of the time if you tell the technician about your symptoms they wont give the flu shot, be honest and ask them, they have guidelines to go by

Update: I got the shot yesterday at 11am, and started running a fever since 5 or 6pm. It's 6am now and my fever still does not break. Feeling very achy, nauseous, and chills even with layers of blankets on.  Got only 3 hrs sleep last night with the help of NyQuil.  I can't pull myself out of bed right now, will have to call in sick today. I do not recommend getting a flu shot on day 3-4 since your cold symptoms start whatever your doc says.
