Steam Room

by myrnamarie, Sep 18, 2007 01:31PM
I have a persistent viral cough for 8 weeks now.  It started with a week-long head cold then turned into this cough.  I have no asthma, didn't have bronchitis, pneumonia, allergies etc.  Clean bill of health, except for this cough.  I cough up flem (phlegm) maybe once in 10 coughs.  I've been on antibiotics in case it was bacterial, but to no avail.  My question is, will a steam room help, or hinder?

I know that after awhile of coughing a person starts to cough because they cough, the cough itself irritates and makes a person cough.

a friend told me that after 2 weeks of cough, i should start to worry about pertussis (whooping cough) which there's an epidemic of around here.  steam seems to help many friends of mine...  as to jedispider, i don't care if they're a nurse, i wouldn't take antibiotics without seeing a doctor.  After 8 weeks, it's time to cave in and go see your doc!
