Swollen lymph nodes in neck

Starting 2 days ago, i have what i believe is a slight cold, but this time along with my runny nose and sore throat, the whole right side of my face and neck is swollen and tender as is my inner ear. These symptoms are new to me. Being that my lymph nodes are also swollen, i was wondering if i should go into a dr, or wait this out, or put some sort or of compress on my face and neck?

At first glimpse of your post I panicked a bit and said AMG GO TO THE DOCTORSZ! But then I thought, wait a sec.

I think maybe you have had an allergic reaction to something. I  would suggest taking benedryl. This is a wild guess, but try that. If it does not go away, then go to the doctors :D

I have had swollen lymph nodes in the back of my head before, the symptoms were very strange and uncomfortable.  I went to the doctor and they acted like it was no big deal and said it was just some sort of virus and just to wait for the swelling will go down. If it doesn't then go back.
