This getting ridiculous!

atk
Hi all
I am so fed up with this rotten cold I thought I would see if anyone out there has the same and I can see a few people have a similar complaint.
I caught the marvelous christmas/new year flu and can I get rid of it!  Its not constant thank god but it comes and goes for no apparent reason, mainly blocked or runny nose, sore throat and very bad muscles and joints.  The sneezing is the only constant thing I have kept since Dec '07 and headaches ( which I never suffer from).  I am very very rarely ill so this is so frustrating, I also have red lumps (boils??) at the base of my neck/across shoulders and down my spine.  Not pretty!
Any ideas, off to the doctors obviously but that is something I never do either, hence the delay in not going earlier.  Normally I feel like I can "deal with it", not this time!!
Sorry for the essay but any clues would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on where you live.. in the sunbelt states that is the start of allergy season I know I suffer big time so does my teenager. We have to start taking Claritin type meds daily for 8 months to keep them at bay.. You may have had a cold and then allergies kicked in and you thought they were one in the same I say try to take some allergy meds next late late winter and early spring all the way to fall.. I bet this will help. You would be surprised at how much damage allergies can do.. THEY can cause me vertigo and days were I cant get out of bed and huge headaches!! I prefer to take my little white pill daily to avoid all the mess.. A trip to your DR in the spring time while you are suffering will help with the diagnosis they can see polyps in your nostrils for confirmation.. GOOD LUCK

Hi,
I also never get sick and "dodge" the flu every year. The second week in February, I came don with bronchitis and a very high temperature. I went to the doctor for fear I had something worse. He put me on antibitics and steriods, which made the bronchitis go away, but brought on other problems. Bad vision from the steriods, a horrible yeast infection from the antibiotics.
If you go to the doctor, they will either give you medication or tell you what they're telling everyone - rest, lots of juice and liquids. Whatever it is this year is a stubborn one because everyone I know gets it and CAN'T get rid of it.
Good luck - I feel your pain - was sick for three weeks and still don't feel completely back to normal.
