Why I'm I getting an odd sore throat on my left side only?

It started yesterday,  it  kinda felt like maybe I was getting a sore throat. Although, I don't feel sick. But then as the day went on I noticed it was only on the left side. And it's weird, it doesn't hurt when I eat or drink like normal sore throats. I get these jolting pains from my neck, to my ear and then head. I especially get these pains when I turn my neck towards the left, looking down at my phone and even when I'm lying down. And today was weird, it actually went away for like a half hour or so. Then all of sudden it was back. I can be just sitting there watching TV, not even swallowing, and get that sharp, jolting pain. I don't feel sick at all! But I do catch myself coughing and clearing my throat a lot. But not because I'm sick, more because I feel like that will lodge the painful ache away. Can you please help me out??
