antibiotics with H1N1?

Hi there, I have H1N1 (diagnosed without test, but makes sense)..4th day.  fever that comes and goes, dry cough, headache, body aches (some sharp, particularly in back), Stuffy head, some funny feelings in stomach from time to time, burning ears and throat on and off.  Went to the local doc to have him give a listen and he said my chest is clear.. no signs of secondary infection BUT gave me a script for Zithromax anyway to "ward off" possible infection... and my question is.. should I take it??  This doc tends to prescribe the heck out of meds and you can walk out with 5 scripts for a cough if you aren't careful.  Just looking for another opinion on this matter before I get the prescription filled.

Thanks for your reply.

The Zithromax will help prevent and fight off pneumonia and other respiratory infections.  Many people who have H1N1 also develop upper respiratory infections as well.  Which is probably why your doctor prescribed it.
