cough

Had on and off low grade fever for a few days with a bad cough.  Everything is gone except the cough.  it is a lot better but i still have coughing attacks.  my dr. said it is viral because everyone has it.  any suggestions?  i am soooooo sick of coughing.

Dear rbk,
I'm not a doctor, but, the only thing I could suggest is to make sure your not congested i.e. no back drip to feed the cough and #2 you're kind of stuck with over the counter cough meds unless you want a prescription med from the md, which will probably make you drowsy.

if the fever is gone, think about what phil's saying, nasal saline can clear any post-nasal drip
