sore throat question = cold?

So Ever since winter started ive had a sore throat. But in the last several days it the sore throat has gotten pretty bad.
I was guessing i have caught a cold but i only have 3 symptoms and it goes away.

When i wake up i have a really bad sore throat, runny nose, and feel very tired. but after an hour or so the runny nose almost goes away, i feel fine and the sore throat is very mild or unnoticeable. i go to the gym and i still feel fine.

So im some what lost in whether i have a cold or not and wante dto see if anyone could help me, thanks
