what do I have? please help

Hi, over my thanksgiving break, Nov. 25-30th, I came down with something but am not sure what it was. On tuesday the 25th I started to feel run down during the day but didn't have a temp, I had a little nasal congestion but that was about it. Later that same night on the 25th my temp shot up to 102.4 and I felt horrible, the next morning I went to the doctor but I think I went too early before all my symptoms were showing.

At the time of doctors visit, nov. 26th, I had nasal congestion, fever, chills, slight cough and was getting out yellow-greenish mucus. She said I had a sinus infection and gave me meds. After two days the fever went down but I continued to feel really run down and more symptoms came on like loss of appeitite, bad chills, night sweats two nights but not extemely bad, slight cough, green mucus, congestion, and then a very sore throat and white patches on my tonsils. I freaked when i saw the patches and my mom called the doctors and they just put me on different meds. Over time I began to feel better and by tuesday Dec. 2nd the patches were gone and I felt pretty good and I thought I was in the clear. two days later on Dec. 4th I began with a rash on the inside of my right wrist then it spread to farther up my arm then inside of left arm and ankles began to really itch at times. The rashes looked like small light red dots and itched bad sometimes and other times not at all and when it didn't itch the color seemed to fade a little. I have tried to diagnose myself and think that maybe I started with a sinus infection that turned into strep? My mom's a nurse so i've been talking to her and looking around online, if I did have strep then the rashes could be scarlet fever rashes that apparently can occur after strep but i thought were on the chest area not the arms and maybe ankles. I still have the rashes today but besides that feel alright.

The main reason why i'm concerned and want to figure out what it is, is because incase this rash isn't from step I really want to know what it's from then, also I had some symptoms like night sweats and chills which from what I know isn't related to strep and the timing and combination of how all my symptoms came together seems odd to me, like not how a normal case of strep throat would be. If theres anyone out there that has medical experience or knows what there talking about and can help me I would be very thankful! please help me and thank you in advance for all that do help me.

The symptoms to me sound typical of a bad flu infection..... which i have had before.with the white patches (which i think is thrush) and sore throat , those usually preceeds or are in conjunction with the flu. if it is so bad, some people even have sores all around their mouths!
have u however tried to find out if you are allegic to any of the different medications given to you? it might be the source of your rush.

Thanks for your response and help. When I saw the white patches I freaked and thought thrush as well because I can be a bit of a hypochondriac, but the patches were only on my tonsils, which my mom and the doctor she called said is a sign of strep. My mom tells me and I'm beginning to believe that I might of had some sort of flu virus as well as sinus infection that became strep throat over time. Which I guess makes sense, except again for the rash that came after my symptoms of everything was clear. If it was a rash from strep then it would of came with the strep symptoms of shortly after.

I looked into the second medicine I was given called Levaquin and saw that it can cause rashes, but usually they happen within the first 48 hours of taking the medication and my rash happened after taking it for 5 days so none of it really adds up. I went to the health center at my school and talked to the nurse there and she seems to think that it's probably a rash from strep and I go back on friday to see her, Hopefully this rash will be gone soon and I can actually figure out what caused it. Oh you mentioned that some people when they get the flu bad will get sores all around there mouth, while I was sick I got 2 cold sores, or what seemed to look and feel like cold sores. One barely inside my lip and the other on the outside of my lip. What kind of sores were you talking about, like cold sores or something else? Again thank you for your help, hopefully I'll figure out the mystery!

yah....actually now that u mention it, it is cold sores. only for some, they are so severe that the are all over the mouth. i think your Moms theory sounds plausible. with you only breaking out after 5 days, remember that when they say 48hrs or any time frame, sometimes it is only a common observation that is referred to. people react differently.

as i write this, im suffering from some strange flu that i picked up and some of the symptoms i have never suffered before. these things are always mutating(i think). i wouldnt beat myself up too much if i were u coz even the doctors dont look for all the symptoms to add up before declaring what u are suffering from. to

Yea my mom said that the 2 cold sores are probably because my body was so run down and outta wack which makes sense. I get what your saying about the time frame for the rash I didn't really think about how everyone reacts differently, I just saw that it said 48 hours and then worried because mine came way after.

I think it's true about what you said about viruses like the flu coming in many different forms and are always changing. I think the fact that I was getting symptoms that I've never had before, especially the rash, just freaked me out.
