when a childs teperature reaches 40

my daughter has been ill since September she has temperatures every week reaching 40 yet when her temp reaches this high she starts shivering she cant breathe through her nose and she continues to complain about joint pain and stomach pain she has had antibiotics but they never worked her quality of life isnt good as shes not her self anymore and doesnt seem to want to play with other kids or her toys, ive been to the doctors about 15 times and get the same answer its a virus but i didnt think viruses could last 6 months i just want my little girl to be herself again she has also stopped eating over a week ago ive tried to give her food but she has one spoon then starts to cry i dont know what to do. thanks for your help

I feel for you. It's hard having a sick child. Have you been seeing the same doctor each time? Is it possible to get a second oppinion? Have they tested her for anything? I imagine this is all very frustrating and scary. I can't be much help, but I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
